The new floor was primed and painted before being installed. Most of the
areas under the nose were primed and painted. The final coat will be
applied once the sheet is completely welded down.

A lot of work is now underway on the engineers side and under the cab and nose.
The side sill has been removed and a lot of rust and rot has been found.

The front plow has been removed and will be replaced with foot boards and a
complete pilot like it had in the 50's.

It has been a while since we were able to get some updates for the 1518, but
we finally have some. The entire fireman side corner, battery box, and lower
cab structure and side sheets have been reconstructed.

All the rotted sections of steel framing were torched out. This included the battery and
tool box frames, and a ten foot section of the side sill.
